ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Downtown Albany will soon have its first 24-hour restaurant. A new Waffle House building is up, and the sign is out.
Interim Downtown Manager Sharlene Cannon expects to hear the opening date any day now.
She said it will be great for downtown, especially for the Hilton Garden Inn next door.
"Well I think the biggest beneficiary is going to be the Hilton next door because they have so many people in and out. And its great for them to be able to walk next door any hour of the night and grab something. And as for the locals I think well see a lot of people hanging out there," said Cannon.
The restaurant is across from the Civic Center where the drive through of the old Bank of America building used to be.
