THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) - Parents are running out of time to get their kids state-required vaccinations before school starts.
The Thomas County Health Department will host a back-to-school clinic Friday to target families who haven't gotten their shots.
Registered Nurse Avis Harbert said the clinic is only for these students, which should help with long wait times.
"We're trying to make it more convenient for them," said Harbert. "We're not trying to keep them here waiting in long lines. So we thought by just opening it up an extra day, maybe that will alleviate some of that."
This is the first time the department will be open on a Friday in a few years.
The clinic will run from 9 a.m. until noon.
