A Thomas county woman is in the hospital after she was attacked by a stray cat.
Bill Bowen said his wife, Susan, was rushed to the emergency room after a tabby cat bit her repeatedly on her leg.
She's still undergoing surgery as Animal Control tries to locate the cat to test it for rabies.
Mrs. Bowen tried to get the cat off of their back porch before the attack.
“She walked out with the cat,” said Mr. Bowen. “She turned around to walk back in. The cat flipped and just jumped on her leg and just started mauling her leg.”
Bowen said the cat has an injured left eye.
Bowen wants to warn his neighbors on Highway 202 to look out for the cat and to call Animal Control if they spot it.
