ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

City leaders say they will fix a safety hazard in Holloway Park.

There are two uncovered manholes at the park.

Children often play there, and some residents are worried they could be hurt.

"I looked down in one, they are really deep and kids can fall down in it," said resident Donny Green. "There's another one that's really deep but it has water in it. They can drown in it. So that's a hazard."

A Recreation and Parks Department official said they will have a maintenance crew address the issue quickly.

Thomasville really embraces the Victorian era. It's a time in the city's history when it became a popular winter resort so it seems fitting that the Rose City's holiday theme focuses on this period. And the community gets into the spirit by dressing in Victorian-era clothing.
