AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Parents and students are getting a look at a new charter school.
An open house at Furlow Charter School is being held at 6:00 Tuesday night.
More than 400 scholars are enrolled for the school's first year.
"Fired up. Been doing a lot of work. A lot of our advisors have been coming in, spending time in, putting the energy in, so I think we're ready for the 3rd," said principal Dr. Emmanuel Vincent.
"We jumped into this and we have been supported beyond what we ever thought we would be and we are just so excited to be here," said adviser Mandy Butler.
The school will start with kindergarten through eighth grade, and then add a high school grade each of the next four years.
