DUBLIN, GA (WALB) - The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center will hold a memorial service on August 9 at 2:00 p.m. to honor veterans who have recently passed away.
The memorial service is held twice each year and is open to all and everyone is invited to join the deceased veterans' families and friends and VA staff in honoring America's heroes.
The service will be held in the medical center's chapel on the second floor of Building 2. Family and friends of veterans being honored at the service are invited to bring items of remembrance for display during the tribute.
Chaplain Tim Brown, supervisor of Chaplain Services invites families to celebrate the lives of deceased veterans. "At the VA, we establish relationships with our veterans to ensure that they have healthy and satisfying lives and those relationships continue even after death. Our memorial service honors the service of our veterans and demonstrates to their loved ones that we were proud to have served those who served. It is a time of closure, but also a time to affirm that our veterans will never be forgotten," Brown said.
