DAWSON, GA (WALB) -

A Dawson Restaurant is raising money to help find a cure for cancer.
Sugamama's Concessions kicked off their Cancer fundraiser this week with pre-order sales of popcorn.
A portion of the profits will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
Organizer Candy Hawkins started the fundraiser after learning Terrell County has one of the highest rates of cancer in the state.

"We have several family members that have battled cancer,” said Candy Hawkins, Partner of Sugamama’s Concessions. “We have some family members and friends who have lost the battle and being that Terrell County is our home we want to make sure that when someone is diagnosed with cancer that they have what they need. The American Cancer Society helped the family members that we have and we just want to give back."

You can get popcorn and help out cancer patients by calling Sugamama’s Concessions at 669-7899.
