TIFTON, GA (WALB) - Community members in Tifton were able to share their concerns with law enforcement Friday morning for Coffee With a Cop.
Because of the bad publicity surrounding how some members of law enforcement have handled situations across the country, national Coffee With A Cop day was formed.
Sheriff Gene Scarbrough said the community is law enforcement's eyes and ears, and it's important to build trust to help keep communities safe.
This is a different way to try and bridge that gap, and bring us back together and get us talking about issues in our community," said Court Administrator Charleston Carter.
Coffee With A Cop started in 2011 in Hawthorne, California, before spreading across the country.
