BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - Kids in Bainbridge are enjoying their last days of summer by spending time with Bainbridge Public Safety officers.
On Friday, officers went swimming with kids from the Friendship House of Jesus.
Some officers showed off their skills on the diving board, while others taught kids how to swim.
Friendship House Executive Director Jimmy Adamson said the event gives these kids more than entertainment.
"I think it's very important for them to see that the community genuinely cares about them," said Adamson. "There's not a divide. These officers care about these kids."
Bainbridge Public Safety plans to coordinate more events to build stronger relationships between law enforcement and kids.
