Wife, husband charged with murder in nursing home death

NICHOLLS, GA (WALB) - James Robert Jacobs and Diane Jacobs were served with a murder warrant today in the death of  Alexander McKay Hunter, whose body was found buried at the Rosewood Manor Care Home in Nicholls, on August 8, 2014.

Diana Jacobs was arrested last August at the Rosewood Care Home after telling detectives that Hunter was buried inside a shed on the property.

James Robert Jacobs was arrested in Pierce County at a family member's residence on August 13, 2014 for Financial Transaction Card Fraud and was later charged with Concealing a Death.

On January 26, 2015, James Coy Jacobs was arrested and charged with Concealing a Death and Financial Transaction Card Fraud. The younger Coy Jacobs was granted a bond on May 28, 2015.

On February 24, 2015, Helen Malphus, the mother of Diana Jacobs was charged False Statements and Writings, Concealment of facts and fraudulent  documents concerning obtaining the licensing for the Care Home. Malphus was granted a bond by the Magistrate Judge.

On July 14, 2015, Detectives obtained warrants on Elizabeth Aspinwall Jacobs, who is the mother of James Robert Jacobs, for Tampering with evidence. Elizabeth Jacobs appeared before the Magistrate Judge and was granted a bond.

Newly discovered evidence led to the malice murder warrants on the Jacobs today.
