ADEL, GA (WALB) - A Berrien Co. man was behind bars in Cook Co. Thursday, accused of stealing lawn equipment from a home in Adel.
Police identified 44 year old Randall Baldwin thanks to surveillance cameras in the home from which the lawn equipment was stolen.
Police say Baldwin came to the home on Hutchinson St. on July 13th and stole several items. The homeowner installed surveillance cameras after that, but the man came back twice more on the 20th and stole some gas cans and a pressure washer.
He was arrested during a traffic stop after police saw him walking out of a pawn shop in Adel days later.
"We conducted a traffic stop. Based on the evidence that was in plain view in the bed of the pick up, some of the equipment that he had taken was seen and recovered. He was arrested on scene," said Adel Police Cpt. Jonathan Blake.
Most of the stolen items had been recovered Thursday, but police were checking pawn shops in surrounding cities and counties to see if they could find the rest.
