South Georgia Medical Center officials were reminding folks Wednesday to use the new urgent care center at its Smith Northview campus in Valdosta.
It opened July 18th and the Director of Clinical Services said Wednesday it had gotten busier each day. She said the center wasn't busy over the weekend, but as the week had gone people began to use the center more.
She hoped that trend continues so people with more serious issues get treated at the ER faster.
"I'm glad that the community is realizing that and it's not taking as long so they can utilize our facility to what it's designed to do," said Julie Williams, Director of Clinical Services at SGMC's outpatient plaza. "So, it kind of gets us excited that the community knows."
The urgent care center is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week for everyone two years old and up.
