ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A 16-year-old boy is recovering this morning, after he was shot late Tuesday night outside an Albany apartment.

Witnesses say they heard about five gunshots around 1:20 Wednesday morning in the 600 block of West Society.

APD says today that Darryl Mingo and friends were sitting on the front porch when a white older model vehicle, and a red older model vehicle rode past.

The witnesses told police that people in both cars were shooting into the air as they drove by the first two times.

But on the third time they passed, they started shooting towards the house, and that's when Mingo was shot in the upper left thigh.
