LEE CO., GA (WALB) - Lee County officials are moving to continue work on the next two phases of the Forrester Parkway extension.
Bids for design of phases two and three of the Lee County East -West Corridor were opened yesterday, with Lanier Engineering the low bid at just under $95,000.
Officials hope to have the next 3 miles of the project complete in one year, improving public safety response and business opportunities.
Lee County Manager Ron Rabun said "When you can get traffic from one point to another point quicker, it will open up economic development opportunities too, along that corridor, we believe."
County Commissioners will vote on the bid July 28th.
Officials hope to have all five phases of Forrester Parkway complete in five years.
