DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) - Dougherty County Police continue the hunt for a violent armed robber who fired five shots during a stick-up at the Stop N Shop on Cordele Road late Monday aftenoon.
The female clerk was putting cash into a bag when the robber suddenly opened fire.
Fortunately the clerk was not hit.
Investigators are working to see if this gunman committed other robberies. Dougherty County Police Lt. Chad Kirkpatrick said "We don't have any indication right now. The city had one a couple of weeks ago off Clark, where the clerk was shot at as well. We don't know if they are related at this time, but that is something we're investigating."
The store had no surveillance video of the robbery.
Dougherty County Police urge all retail businesses to have working surveillance video systems.
