ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Some community leaders voiced concern that violence could come from Confederate flag rallies, like the one Saturday at the East Albany Walmart, noting that they want to prevent problems.
During Tuesday's Stop The Violence meeting, leaders talked with law enforcement about ways to make sure differences of opinion over the flag do not escalate.
"If we don't come together soon, sit down and address these issues, we are going to see greater problems up the road. Because I think this is not going to go away. I think it's only going to get worse," said Bishop Frederick Williams, Stop The Violence Co-Founder.
Albany city commissioners also discussed the Confederate Flag Rally Tuesday.
