Storms drop hail, cause power outages

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Reports of damaging wind and hail erupted as strong storms grew and dropped heavy rain across the Albany area Monday evening.

Viewers reported quarter-size hail and ominous clouds as the storm poured torrential rain over the city.

Widespread power outages were reported in South Albany after 7 p.m.

Mitchell EMC confirmed that a power substation was down.

Power lines were reported to be down in other areas.
