Murder warrants issued in Lee Co. death investigation

LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents announced that arrest warrants for murder were issued for Yathomas Riley in the death of his wife, Dr. Lisa Riley.

Yathomas Riley is charged with Murder, Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault.

Lisa Riley's body was reported by Yathomas at their Northampton Road residence in Leesburg on July 10th, with a gunshot wound to her head.

Riley has been in custody at the Lee County Jail since his arrest on the same day for charges unrelated to his wife’s death.

He was previously charged with three counts of aggravated assault from a domestic dispute in June. He was granted bond at the time that prohibited him from being in a home with firearms.

Yathomas Riley was booked into the Lee County Jail, and is expected to appear at a bond hearing that was deferred until Tuesday, July 21 at 1 p.m.
