ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An award-winning safe driving campaign is expanding.

This is the fifth anniversary of A-T-&-T's "It Can Wait" campaign that urged people not to text and drive.
Dramatic new ads and new mobile apps show that texting isn't the only danger... as many people surf the internet or use social media behind the wheel.

State troopers say they encounter offenders often.

“Had an assignment," said corporal Andrew McKenzie. "Couldn’t stop, but I pulled beside a young lady and she was texting so I have not seen any decline in people using their cellphones.”

AT&T says a recent survey found 7 out of 10 people engage in smart phone activities while driving.
