ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Baptist leaders are working to spread the spirit of forgiveness shown by the families of the Charleston victims.
12-hundred delegates General Missionary Baptist Convention churches in Georgia are meeting in Albany.
" Their response was one of forgiveness. Even in the midst of their hurt and their pain. That's the kind of foundation we have in Christ we're better able to help others to get to another level. Hate cannot eradicate hate. It takes love to destroy hate," said Rev. Thurmond N. Tillman, President of General Missionary Baptist of Christian Education.
The convention's 53rd annual Congress of Christian Education wraps up tomorrow at Monroe High School and Southside Middle School.
It has included worship services, a youth rally, and classes on how to be a disciple for Jesus Christ.
