THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

Saturday afternoon, the city of Thomasville will make its debut on a new HGTV show called "Saving America: One House at a Time."

People are invited to come out to the Municipal Auditorium downtown to meet the couple who put their newly bought home in the hands of two designers.

The show focuses on renovating historical homes, but still maintaining the house’s charm.

The Main Street and Tourism Office said they hope the show brings more attention to the town.

“Our hope is that more people will come visit, said Marketing and Communications Manager Sherri Nix. “They'll see Thomasville and they'll see how charming it is and come visit or choose to live here. And maybe we'll get some other shows taped here.”

This Saturday's showing will begin at 1 p.m. with details of the show, followed by the premiere at 2 p.m.

Tickets are free and available at the Visitors Center.
