Investigation continues in death of Phoebe Putney doctor

LEE CO., GA (WALB) -

Investigators continue to pour over piles of evidence in the death of 34-year old Lisa Riley. She was found shot to death in her home at 578 Northampton Road.

Yathomas Riley, her husband, called 911 at 8:30 last Friday morning saying he came in and found his wife bleeding on the floor. Responding Lee County deputies quickly called in the GBI to assist.

"We're simply to find the truth as to the exact manner of death," said Assistant Special Agent in Charge Mike Walsingham.

That process has included days of interviews with several people. An autopsy did confirm the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head.

"We have conducted interviews of her coworkers. We've conducted interviews of individuals who have actually called in with tips and we're actively pursuing those at this time," said Walsingham.

Meanwhile, Yathomas Riley remains in the Lee County jail with his bond revoked on a prior domestic violence arrest. He is scheduled to have a bond hearing next Tuesday. He has not been charged in Lisa Riley's death.
