LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) - A Valdosta teenager is in the Lowndes County jail after a single vehicle wreck this morning just before 4:00.
Jordan Lee Baughcum, 19, was driving south on Old Clyattville Road, when his car ran off the road, through a ditch, and landed upside down. Troopers say the airbag deployed, and his seat belt saved his life.
He said a deer jumped out in front of him.
When they investigated, they found Baughcum drunk, and charged him with DUI and consumption of alcohol by a minor.
They found 15 Alprazolam tablets in a plastic bag in the car, and charged him with possession of a schedule IV controlled substance.
