APD chief wants help with murder case

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany's Police Chief is asking for your help to find a murder suspect, and talked about that at a Tuesday news conference in Albany.

Chief Michael Persley says two people are jail for the shooting death of 44-year-old James Hawkins here on West Highland Avenue
earlier this month.

Police are still looking for 25-year-old Jamie Alexander Washington...also known as Jaw Jacker. 17-year-old Mylan Mahoney and Malcom Offord Jr.,  21, are both charged with murdering James Hawkins. He was shot at least three times in the left side during a robbery attempt July 5th and later died at the hospital.

"We're still looking for the whereabouts of Mr. Jamie Alexander Washington, and if anyone has any information about the where abouts of Mr. Washington or if he's watching the broadcast, we would like for him to go ahead and turn himself in, so that we can go ahead and conclude the investigation and bring some closure to this incident."
