Man goes to prison for assault on officer

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A Valdosta man will spend the next four years in prison and another six on probation for assaulting a Valdosta Police Officer.

Willie Hunter plead guilty Monday morning in a Lowndes County courtroom.

He assaulted the officer as that officer tried to arrest him on March 6th of last year, for selling Cocaine in the 600 block of Old Hudson Street.

Hunter ran and hid under a nearby porch, but a police dog tracked him down and bit him on the arm, causing him to surrender.
