Heat waves takes over South Georgia

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Many are feeling the effects of South Georgia's heat. A heat advisory is in effect until 8 tonight.
The heat index will range from 105 to 110 degrees.

Some folks say the best way to stay cool is stay in the shade.

"With all the shade trees this is the perfect place to have this event because it's just wonderful. It's not really that hot under the shade trees and if you have a fan that makes it even a little nicer," Frieda Powell said.

Remember to drink plenty of water and to stay in an air-conditioned room, out of the sun.
