VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Dozens of South Georgians showed their support Friday for the family of a Valdosta veteran who committed suicide on the 4th of July.

A celebration of life service was held at the Valdosta State University P.E. complex Friday morning to remember Mikey Kreft. He shot himself Saturday night after fireworks triggered his PTSD.

His brother, John Kreft, said seeing all of the people at the celebration was heartwarming. "It definitely touched my heart to see how many people my brother touched in his life," John explained. "I didn't get to spend much time with my brother, but I knew that everywhere he went he was loved and adored by everyone."

Funeral services for Mikey Kreft for planned for July 10th in Valdosta.
