A Valdosta man arrested this week for child molestation is causing Echols County investigators to re-examine their investigation of him.

Davis Sheppard, III was arrested on Wednesday and charged with molesting a 14 year-old at his home in the 2800 block of Bud McKey Circle on July 2nd.

The Echols County Sheriff's Office began investigating Sheppard in March of 2013 after receiving a similar complaint from a resident, but not enough evidence was ever found to charge Sheppard then.

"I think, maybe, the victim's situation there might be some similar stuff with both cases that we're gonna revisit and look at again," said Echols County Sheriff Randy Courson.

Sheppard was also a coach for the Valdosta Lowndes Parks and Rec Authority, but as of Friday had been suspended as a result of his arrest. Sheriff Courson emphasized Friday that his office fully notified the VLPRA of their investigation when they begin investigating in March 2013.
