AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Gary Lamar "Sparky" Reeves plans to retire as President of South Georgia Technical College effective September 30th, 2015.
Reeves has lead the school since 2004, and has had a tremendous impact on the college and the surrounding communities in each of his different roles throughout the last four decades.
"I had a vision for the college when I was named President," said Reeves, "and I feel like I have accomplished my goals. Now it is time for me to step back and let someone else take the reins while I make time for myself and my family."
Looking back over the rich history of South Georgia Tech, Reeves stated, "We have come a long way! I think our progress is a testimony to anyone who has ever attended, worked or supported the college and I am honored to be among that group."
