CRISP CO., GA (WALB) - The Crisp County Sheriff's Office wants to make sure churches are safe and secure.
After last month's deadly attack at a church in Charleston, South Carolina, Sheriff Billy Hancock decided to offer free safety classes to churches.
He said churches can be vulnerable because folks are focused on the service and sit with their backs to the door.
"Were not wanting to change that sanctuary or that feeling you have when you are in church, we still want you to feel comfortable, but its an opportunity to go in and access the vulnerabilities of a church," said Crisp County Sheriff Bill Hancock.
Anyone one interested in setting up a class can contact the sheriff's office.
