Blueberry season winds down


Joedy Putnal, owner of Busy Elves Christmas Tree and Blueberry Farm said they started picking blueberries May 30th and will wrap up next week.
     He said this year's crop has been his best yet.

 "This is our third year being open and I'm really pleasantly surprised. We had more berries this year because we planted more in 11, 12, and 13 and we had more people came out so that's sort  of the way it goes," said Joedy Putnal Owner.    

     Blueberries are now Georgia's top fruit crop,and the state leads the nation in blueberry production.
     Last year, Georgia topped Michigan for the first time.
