Corporation plans to repair Albany home

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The ADICA board voted to donate a historic home in the 400 block of Residence Avenue to the Oaks at North Intown Development, a tax exempt corporation connected to the Albany Housing Authority.

The plan is to repair and sell the home to kick start home ownership in the area.

"To acquire the house, rehab the house and then sale it to an eligible home buyer that ideally is somebody who works in that neighborhood, works in that area downtown or somewhere close by and just to help kick start some homeownership in that area," said Dan McCarthy Albany Housing Authority.

The corporation is applying for community development block grants to fix up the home.
