ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Prosecutors say Albany Police have some persons of interest in a murder on West Highland Avenue late Sunday night, and arrests could be made soon.

According to a report, 44-year-old James Hawkins was shot at least 3 times in the left side.

Prosecutors believe it was a robbery attempt and say several people witnessed it.

Hawkins' brother is asking those witnesses to help police find the killers.

"If they know something, just think about it as if it were their family member. What would they do, or what would you like for the people to do. So we as a family, we are asking those with that type of information to come forward."

Dennis Hawkins said his brother's funeral will be Saturday.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeSTOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
