The man accused of shooting the mayor of Dawson nearly two years ago was in court Wednesday.
31-year-old Nakia Jones went before a superior court judge for a bond hearing but didn't have an attorney. Jones was arrested last week in Albany and charged with aggravated assault in the ambush shooting of Christopher Wright at his home Halloween night 2013.
Jones was appointed a public defender and the hearing was postponed. The new bond hearing is scheduled for July 13th.
Mayor Wright says he doesn't know Jones. He believes there were two attackers. The GBI continues to investigate.
