TIFTON, GA (WALB) - The mother of a man murdered nearly a year ago is begging for new information in her son's case.
The family is now offering a $3,000 reward for information that helps catch and convict the killer.
Jessie Harris was gunned down at the doorstep of his Tifton home last August 18th. now Kim Espinoza hopes this new push brings out new information.
Kim Espinoza went door to door and car to car today—hoping for renewed interest in her son's murder.
"I've got a broken heart. My whole family is broken hearted. He was a bright young man and had a lot of friends," said Espinoza.
Espinoza also taped fliers on telephone poles just feet from where her 22-year old son was killed on Timmons Drive. She's offering an additional $3,000 reward for new information.
"We're hoping to push whoever knows anything to bring out information. More than what we have. More than what the police department can come up with at the moment," said Espinoza.
Tifton police offered a $1,000 last year, but it did not result in any arrests.
They have spoken with possible witnesses and persons of interest but have had no luck so far.
"Certainly we hope that the renewed effort by the family will bear that fruit and we can get them some kind of closure in this," said Lt. Lee Dunston.
"As a mom, we're not going to stop until we get answers. We're going to keep pushing it. We're not going to let it get on the back burner," said Espinoza.
That means more fliers around town, and more personal deliveries to nearby residents in an effort to put her grieving family at peace.
"We need someone to come forward and help us put it closed so we can be at peace. And let him rest in peace," said Espinoza.
Lt. Dunston said there still isn't a clear motive for the crime, but anyone with information can call Tifton Police or the number on the flier.
