Man struck and killed along Grady highway

John Brinson John Brinson
GRADY COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a collision that killed one pedestrian Tuesday night.

32-year-old Aaron Joseph Lee was struck on Highway 84 in Grady County, near Pierce Chapel Road, about 10:00PM.

When troopers arrived, a Ford Escort was at the scene. The driver, Laketha Davis, told troopers she saw another car hit Lee first, causing Lee to collide with her car. Davis' car ended up in a ditch.

Davis and the four other passengers in her car were not injured.

Troopers say it's possible that another two vehicles were involved, but that's still under investigation.

Trooper John Brinson said, "The driver alleges that she had seen the pedestrian prior to the pedestrian hitting her car. And alleged that an unknown vehicle, possibly a Dodge Neon or a log truck struck the pedestrian, which caused the pedestrian to go up and hit her car."

A reconstruction team was called to investigate.

No charges are being filed against Davis at this time.
