A man is out of jail on bond after investigators said he admitted to shaking his baby, causing serious injuries.
Demarco Murphy, 21, is charged with first degree child cruelty and aggravated assault. Murphy told investigators that his 6-month-old child was crying, which led to him lose his temper, but he said he didn't know he hurt the baby at the time.
Bainbridge Public Safety Investigator Chip Nix said, “The child was in the hospital when we were called. His mother had picked him up from his father from visitation and noticed that the child had some injuries and wasn't acting right. So she took him to the emergency room.”
The baby has since been released after spending several days at the hospital.
