ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Georgia's Consumer Protection unit is now under the Attorney General's Office.
It had been part of the Governor's office since 1960.
The unit helps protect you from unlawful and deceptive practices by businesses.
Attorney General Sam Olens said some of the top complaints deal with body shop repairs, used car sales, and identity theft.
"The area that we're going to push a lot more is identity theft because as you know Georgia is one of the states that has a more significant problem in that area, so the folks that are in the unit are really excited about spending more time helping Georgia citizens with regard to identity theft," said Sam Olens.
