LAKE BLACKSHEAR, GA (WALB) - Big July 4th crowds at the lake resulted in big money for Veterans State Park.
The park netted more than $100,000 from park entrance fees and visitors to The Resort at Lake Blackshear.
Thousands of people spent much of Saturday at the park.
The festivities ended with a fireworks show on the lake Saturday night.
"We still had upwards of about 10,000 people. We were hoping for about 12-15 but the rain definitely hurt us pretty bad. Overall it was pretty good though. Pretty much, July 4th is our Black Friday," said Resource Manager Jeb Bell.
Bell said a lot of people watched the fireworks from the water as well.
