APD issues lookout for man with multiple warrants

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Police Department wants to public's help locating a man who took off running from them, after he crashed another man's truck, and ran.

On Wednesday, June 24, while patrolling the 1700 block of Dawson Road an APD officer saw a blue Ford F-150, registered to John Lee Lawton, fail to yield before turning left onto North Magnolia Street, almost causing the oncoming traffic to collide with his vehicle.

The officer tried to pull the man over, but he refused to stop, and sped up before almost losing control of the vehicle, slammed on his brakes and drove over the curb at Forest Glen Road and Pineknoll Lane.

The driver jumped out of the vehicle while it was heading toward a tree. Officers learned from a passenger that the man was Christopher Davis, who had an active warrant for his arrest. Now he has more.

Warrants have been issued against Davis for: Reckless Conduct, Obstruction of an officer, Failure to Yield when turning left, and reckless driving. If you see him, call CRIMESTOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
