Dozens of families are kicking off the July fourth weekend with Movies on the Flint.
Families watched the Lego movie behind the Welcome Center tonight.
They also enjoyed music and food from vendors.
Tonight's event was put on by the city, ADICA and the Albany Utility Board.
Organizers say it's a fun way to kick off Independence Day.
"We were going to do something anyways but we did it on this day because the fireworks are coming back downtown this year, so we wanted to do something leading up to that and just have a whole weekend event that people could bring their families out too,” said John M. Howard, Assistant Downtown Manager.
Organizers hope to have another Movies on the Flint in the Fall.
