Selfie sticks okay at Wild Adventures

If you were planning Friday to head out to Wild Adventures to celebrate the holiday over the weekend, it was okay to bring your selfie stick.

Disney theme parks had, as of Friday, banned selfie sticks at their parks out of safety concerns, but officials at Wild Adventures said they don't see any harm in the devices.

Guests could also bring in chairs to set up for the fireworks display Saturday night, but were not, however, allowed to bring food or drinks into the park.

"We try to have as few rules as we can have to keep people safe. But it's a theme park, we gotta come here and have fun. If you wanna bring your selfie stick, bring it," said Wild Adventures' Public Relations Director Laurie Windham.

Saturday's fireworks show was scheduled to start at dark.
