People line up to purchase fireworks

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The only store in Albany licensed to sell those newly-legal exploding fireworks opened Thursday night.

Dozens of people were waiting when the doors opened at a store located near Harvey's and Big Lots on North Slappey Boulevard in Albany.
They sold out of some items within the first 30 minutes.  Workers expect another delivery Friday.
     They're excited about the turnout.

"I expected it to be really big. This is the first time Georgia's had this. This is the first time that we've done this, so it's all kind of a learning experience and we're trying to figure it out as we go," said Mark Walker, TNT Fireworks.

"A long time coming from around here. All you can buy is like little sparklers, kids can go buy that. You know what I'm saying,” said Kenny Kelly, Leesburg Native.

The TNT Fireworks store will open at 10 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
