VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Jeremy Anderson of Valdosta is half a million dollars richer, thanks to a lucky Jumbo Bucks ticket.
The Jet Food Store #0091, at 62 West Main Street in Lakeland, sold the ticket worth a top prize of $500,000.
Anderson claimed his prize last Monday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Tifton.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program.
More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
