VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta Police were investigating Wednesday a fifth case of gunfire in four days, but investigators believed this latest incident was not a random act.

Around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, someone fired three shots at 1 Wilmington Ct. One of the bullets did go through the home and land on a bed, but no one was hurt.

18 year old JuMonta Huggie was inside watching TV with his mother and girlfriend at the time and said he believes the bullets were meant for him. "If ya'll gon' come get me, come get me. Don't come bother my family. My family aint got nothin' to do with it," JuMonta Huggie emphasized.

Said JuMonta's mother, Shekina Huggie, regarding her home being shot at, "It makes me upset and feel like I can't protect my kids because someone is doin' some senseless things like this."

As of Wednesday morning, police did not believe this was connected to any of the other four cases of gunfire that had happened since Saturday.

According to a release from VPD regarding the gunfire, detectives believe the shooter knows the residents.  Detectives were working on leads Wednesday morning and had developed persons of interest.
