Veterans State Park works get ready for July 4th

CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

Veterans State Park workers are preparing for a big crowd for their July 4th Fireworks on the Flint show.

This area near the mega boat ramp and Picnic Shelter will be closed off for the fireworks.

Two other boat ramps will be open.

Picnic tables and grills are available on a first come first served basis.

You're encouraged to bring your own chairs and to show up early to enjoy all the festivities.

"During the celebration Cypress Grill will have DJ Dangerous playing all of our favorite hits. We'll have a water slide and a bounce obstacle course here at the beach area for the kids. It's 8 dollars per arm band and that's for an all day play. The kids can go on the water slide as many times as they want from 10 to 5,” said Amanda Sayles, Activities Coordinator.

The fireworks will kick off at 9 p.m. Saturday.

The band Shenandoah will perform Sunday.
