Adel man wins $30K on a scratch-off

Jeffrey Chandler of Adel, didn't know he was about to get lucky when he bought a Cashworld VII instant ticket at the Adel Mega Mart, at 100 N. Hutchinson Avenue, but that's just what happened.

Chandler scored big when he found that he had won the $30,000 top prize.

He claimed his prize June 15 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Tifton.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program.
