ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Georgia Historical Society recognized Thronateeska Heritage Center for its commitment to preserving the past.
Dozens of processed and stored artifacts and historical documents are now available to the public.
Several documents are available digitally.
"It just adds to what we have to offer here, of course we have the science museum, the planetarium, the history museum, and it just adds another element to what we are doing here, in preserving our area history, and those stories that are so important," said Tommy Gregors with Thronateeska Heritage Foundation.
It's part of their South Georgia Archives Project. Important records are now stored in a climate controlled area.
