Valdosta Police were thanking citizens Monday for helping them quickly catch a burglary suspect.

According to police, 33 year old Maxwell Aho broke into a home in the 2500 block of Seymour St. Saturday and stole a TV.

Shortly after officers arrived, citizens alerted officers that they had just seen a man walking down the street with a TV go into 2435 Knox Dr. Officers searched the home and found a TV stuffed between a mattress and a box spring.

Aho was arrested after officers questioned him and two others in the home. The two others in the home were not arrested.

As of Monday afternoon, Aho remained in the Lowndes County Jail and charges of burglary-forced entry to a residence and criminal trespass private property vandalism were pending against him.
