Thomasville man wins $50,000 in Lottery

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Donald Rockwell, Jr. of Thomasville has a much bigger budget, since he scratched off a Jumbo Bucks Classic instant ticket with a $50,000 top prize.

Fast Fuel #0018, 2499 U.S. Highway 319 South in Thomasville, sold the winning ticket.

Rockwell claimed his prize June 22 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Tifton.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program.

More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
